PEMBERDAYAAN KELOMPOK DUKUNGAN SEBAYA DALAM MENINGKATKAN PENGETAHUAN ORANG DENGAN HIV/AIDS TENTANG SIFILIS LATEN

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), particularly latent syphilis, remain a public health concern requiring attention among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). Latent syphilis often presents without symptoms, which may lead to delayed diagnosis and increase the risk of complications and transmission. This community service activity aimed to improve PLWHA’s understanding of risk factors, the relationship between syphilis and HIV, prevention strategies, and early detection of latent syphilis. The activity was conducted among 35 members of the Jombang Care Center Plus Peer Support Group (KDS JCC+) in Jombang Regency through three stages: preparation, health education implementation, and evaluation. The educational session used interactive lectures supported by PowerPoint presentations, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. Evaluation results showed that approximately 80% of participants identified syphilis prevention methods, and 75% actively participated in discussions. Continuous health education is necessary to improve health literacy and support STI prevention efforts among PLWHA.

This activity is carried out in various ways, namely through electronic media, social media, to universities through stock exchange seminars, to certain institutions, and even to schools to students. SMAN 11 Batam is a school that is geographically separated from Batam City or commonly called Hinterland. The service team is interested in providing education and socialization to students in the hinterland area due to the lack of information they get through lessons at school and to foster interest in investing among students from an early age. After participating in the counseling, participants were very enthusiastic about receiving education on the importance of optimizing the millennial generation and capital market education for students. Participants will understand and understand more about the benefits and role of the Capital Market for the Indonesian economy, as well as how to transact in the Capital Market.

Financial literacy is the knowledge and confidence required to possess about financial services institutions and products, including features, benefits and risks, rights and obligations related to financial products and services, and skills in using them. Objective: In the Batu Aji area of Batam City, many MSMEs have the potential to grow but still face challenges in managing their business finances. Therefore, educational and mentoring activities regarding financial literacy are needed to empower MSMEs to manage their business finances more effectively and professionally. Method: This community service activity was implemented using lectures and discussions. Results: This activity provided an understanding of the importance of utilizing digital technology in financial management. Several participants became interested in using a simple financial recording application on their mobile phones to assist with recording daily transactions. The use of digital technology is considered to help MSMEs become more orderly and efficient in managing their businesses. Conclusion: Overall, this community service activity had a positive impact on increasing the knowledge and awareness of MSMEs regarding the importance of financial literacy.

PELATIHAN ETIKA DAN KOMUNIKASI DIGITAL UNTUK REMAJA DI PONDOK PESANTREN SYAMSUL HUDA BATAM

Social network applications that are increasingly prevalent among the younger generation raise crucial issues regarding digital ethics and responsible communicative behavior, therefore educational efforts are needed through various educational institutions. This service program is designed to strengthen the understanding and ability of adolescents to manage social media platforms ethically and responsibly through specific training programs carried out in the Syamsul Huda Batam Islamic Boarding School. This activity involved 25 school participants with a participatory method consisting of six phases, namely: counseling, interaction-based training, digital content workshop sessions, group forums, practice sessions, and assessments, equipped with pre-test and post-test measurements to evaluate the success of the program. The evaluation data showed an increase of 78% in the understanding of digital ethics and 65% in communication skills through social media platforms, while the level of participants' proficiency in the program reached 92% based on the results of the questionnaire held after the training. This training program also makes an important contribution to improving the quality of social media applications among adolescents and helps them develop a wiser attitude in digital interactions, in line with the initiative to form a digital generation that has ethical concerns and is able to communicate constructively.

Diabetes mellitus and hypertension are health problems that require increasing attention from childhood, as they may increase the risk of non-communicable diseases in adulthood. This community service activity aimed to screen for diabetes mellitus and hypertension and provide education on management and risk-factor prevention among school-aged children at Plus Hang Tuah 5 Elementary School, North Jakarta. The activity was conducted through blood glucose and blood pressure measurements, followed by education on healthy eating patterns, physical activity, maintaining an ideal body weight, and implementing clean and healthy living behaviors. The screening results were used to identify children with abnormal measurements who required further monitoring. This activity is expected to increase students’ knowledge regarding the prevention of diabetes mellitus and hypertension and encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyles from an early age. Collaboration among schools, parents, and healthcare professionals is essential to support continuous monitoring of children’s health and prevent the development of non-communicable diseases.

Abstract

The development of the digital era demands that the younger generation, particularly high school (SMA) students, possess mental readiness and practical skills in entrepreneurship. Batam City as a dynamic free trade zone offers extensive yet competitive economic opportunities. This community service aims to empower young entrepreneurial spirits through social media-based digital entrepreneurship training for high school students in Batam City. The implementation methods include interactive lectures, technical training on digital marketing content creation, and direct mentoring on the use of social media platforms for business. The results of the activity show an increase in participants' understanding of digital marketing strategies as well as the growth of motivation to start independent business ventures since their school days.

Digital technology has transformed various aspects of life, making it essential to preserve local cultural heritage, such as batik, through innovative approaches that align with technological advancements. This community service program aimed to enhance the skills of teachers and parents at PAUD Bambim Baitul Muttaqien in designing Batik Kepret using the Canva application. The program employed the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach, which consisted of three stages: preparation, material presentation, and hands-on practice. The results showed that the training successfully improved participants' understanding and skills in utilizing Canva's features to create digital Batik Kepret designs. The program also encouraged participants to integrate digital technology with cultural preservation by producing creative and innovative batik designs.
